Tutorials > Photoshop > Image Resize ♥

Introduction

Sometimes you work on an image for so long but alas! the size doesn't fit exactly like what you have imagine it to be. Other times you obtain images from your digital cameras but the file size is too big and might eat into your bandwidth.

No worries, because with photoshop's resizing tool, you can easily defeat these problems. This tutorial teaches you exactly how you can resize your images without distorting the original look of your images.

Tools required
  1. Adobe Photoshop
This guide is written for Adobe Photoshop users, written base on Adobe Photoshop 7.

Before you start
  1. Change your image mode to RGB color by "Images > Mode > RGB color", make sure this is set especially for pixelled image.
It is also best to select this option for other images.
This prevents any image distortion when resizing.

  2. This tutorial contains three main parts, click if you want to skip steps:

  5. Troubleshooting: If you see this image instead,

you might have forgotten to apply "Resample Image: Nearest Neighbor". Try step 2 again.

Tips

You should select "Resample Image > Bicubic" if you want to smooth edges especially when enlarging images.

Select "Resample Image > Nearest Neighbor" if you want to crisp lines and hard edges especially when enlarging pixelled images.
