Introduction
This tutorial teaches you how to keep your original image size the same while increasing the workspace
around it by exactly how much you define.
Tools required
- Adobe Photoshop
This guide is written for Adobe Photoshop users, written base on Adobe Photoshop 7.

How to crop an image - Method 1
- Open an image file.

- Define cropping area by selecting with the crop tool
in the toolbar.
- Click and drag the area you want to keep. If the "Shield option" is selected, the cropped area will
be show in a mask color.
You can modify the crop area by the handles at the corners even after selecting
the area if "Shield" option is enabled.
If you want to shift the entire crop area, click and drag the centre of the crop area.
Alternatively, you can define a fix aspect ratio for width to height, you can input your preference
in

- Rotate your crop area if applicable. You can do so by locating your cursor outside a corner,
a rotate icon will appear. Click and drag it to rotate.
- To confirm the crop area, double click within the crop area, press enter or press the check button
at the options menu.

How to crop an image - Method 2
- Open an image file.

- Define cropping area by selecting with the marquee tool
in the toolbar.

From here you can choose a Fixed
Aspect ratio (which your crop area will be constrained by your preference as you click and drag).
You can also select Fixed Size which will select a fixed size once you click at a position in your
image.
- Select from the top menu: Image > Crop
