lol, seems like im missing or something. there’s a lack of update!

omg, i think i nid to go for speech classes, a few students pointed out that i have “problem projecting” my voice. actually the loudness i think its okay, but its the weak command of english i have lah! how how! i nid to relearn what i should have known in pronouncing things correctly.. hoho… time to reflect!

I am so troubled. I have four classes for practicum, and one of the express sec two class is so slack and lazy and selfish and lazy and selfish and slack and don’t do work and don’t do work and don’t care you and don’t care you such that I find myself can teach very well in one class, but fail miserably in teaching that class even i had two same sec two express classes for physics. Though my CT had comfort me many times that it’s due to the class dynamics and not my fault.

THIS class is a talking point among the teachers. I talked about the class during one of the meal time with my CT while our school’s DM was nearby. Our DM overheard and volunteered to walk in during one of the lesson to observe their behavior.

And so, on 17th, he went into the class and the whole class get hell lot of scoldings, no worksheet even though I had given out their worksheet and asked if they had lost theirs i have extra copies. So these 3 students who was found without the worksheets were made to copy and draw (the diagrams and pictures) on plain A4. Anyway their copied work was hilarious.. will update the pictures haha..

However, came to the point when I subconsciously continued to lesson and asked them to read textbook. Then the DM realised almost half the class had not bring their textbooks. Almost all the students in the class was made to stand because they did not have their textbook with them. Came to a point that day that I get a little emotionally and my heart was aching for them. Think even though I hated to teach during the lesson, I have subconsciously thought it was my fault for not making the lesson interesting to them.

Anyway yesterday was the ultimate tolerance limit. I walked into my CT’s clean classroom, and shortly after the class was littered terribly and the students’ bags were all on the table even though I attempted to start the lesson. I got so angry that I unknowingly and naturally start to scold them.

“I want all bags underneath the table”

I had to do the instructions and expectations step by step in a scolding manner. I think I sounded really like having PMS, the usual class who would not listen to my instructions, surprisingly listened to me. For once, I feel so successfully in my scoldings sia. Anyway here are the few things
1) bags underneath the table
2) textbook on the table
3) furnitures in pairs (cause some joined their tables and the class looks messy)
4) no heads on the table.

when some didnt follow the instruction i went over and give them a direct scolding. Like no textbook, I scolded them for not bringing. Those who had their heads on the table still after I scolded, I went over and scolded “which part of no heads on the table you don’t understand?!”

hais, i also told them, if today they are found without their textbooks, i will submit their names to the DM. So all of them except two students brought or borrowed textbooks. I have yet to submit the names to the DM, I think I can handle the case. I will call their parents instead.

this is horrible. I have been spending and spending on the wrong things! I think ah, average out, I can spend up to 40 bucks per 50-minute lesson’s materials.

My coming lesson observation’s materials, I think i spent $13 x 4 boxes of electro chemistry set, $20 on 1 box of volcano set… and then i bought litmus papers (so no need go through hassle of requisitions from the lab next time) and universal indicator papers - 3 x $11 each.. omg, that is about $110 already. Not counting those miscellaneous things like vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, lemons.. trays .. etc… my bonus will be gone just likdat.. even though most materials can be recycled..

sad.. how to save cost to make a very wonderful lesson? I think my next few observations have to minimize on cost liao.. must be cost-effective..
